Roberts Raw!

Forced Perspective

The theme this month is Forced Perspective. If you’re not aware, this is a trick that makes use of the fact that things farther away from the camera appear smaller, and by juxtaposing an element closer to the frame with one further from it you can create the illusion of interactions that shouldn’t be possible. Like hugging the Sphinx. Or being the reason the Leaning Tower of Pisa is leaning. Or holding the sun in your fingers (although, personally, we don’t see the appeal of that one. Seriously, talk about burns…).

So, for the rest of May, give us your forced perspective shots. If you need some inspiration to get you going, Flickr is full of them, like this group dedicated entirely to it:

As always, read the rules below the gallery, and get your posts in before the end of the month. And have fun, play, take chances. Push the envelope, think outside the box, and otherwise cliché the cliché.

Limit 2 entries per person.
