The shot was taken with a very small amount of natural light coming in through a window on the other side of the room. I wanted to keep the shot as close to the original as possible so I did very little post editing. I did use Digital Photo Profesional to reduse the saturation a bit, simply to give the photo somewhat of a more vintage look, and converted the file format to a Jpeg. |
Welcome to October. The weather’s cooling down, leaves scatter across the landscape (well, here in Indiana, anyway), and Halloween lurks just around the corner.
And, for this month’s theme, we want to pay homage to a man whose works and imagery are virtually synonymous with this time of year: Edgar Allen Poe. His poems and stories illustrate an intensity for technical and abstract beauty. Show us what Poe means to you, whether it’s through his tragic life or his passionate work. You should have ample inspiration for a shot to enter this month.
Entries end midnight, October 31. And, as always, we reserve the right to not enter photos that stray off the theme. So, put on those thinking caps and let’s see some Edgar Allen Poe worthy shots this month!
Limit 2 entries per person.
