Rounding Out Nikon’s list of camera announcements here are four entries into the “S is for Style” series of Coolpix. This line, of course, historically focuses on compact design and elegance, and ranges from mid to high end. Starting out, we’ve got the S3100. The S3100 will have 14 megapixels, a 5x optical zoom covering 26-130mm, a 2.7″ LCD, and 720p video. It’ll come in a lot of colors: yellow, black, red, silver, pink, blue, and purple. It’ll lighten your financial burden by about $140 or so.

Coolpix S4100

The next step up is to the S4100. The S4100 is everything the S3100 is, but it moves most of your controls to a 3″ touchscreen with a middling quality resolution. Still no actual VR here, mind you. Just the marketing hype that is electronic stabilization. It’ll come in black, silver, red, and “plum.” The upgrade will run you forty bones, for a final price around $180.

Coolpix S6100

The next step up will get you into an S6100. Go ahead, stretch your legs out and feel the comfort of a more expansive 7x zoom. It goes 28-196mm, equivalent, you know. If you look around a bit, you’ll notice things look a bit clearer. That’s the fancier ED elements in the lens combining with the couple million more pixels in the 16mp sensor. And everything’ll be a lot more stable, too, thanks to some proper VR. You get to keep the 3″ touchscreen, too. The upgrade’s only $20 this time, and things settle at about $200.

Coolpix S9100

Wait, you want to see this one over here, do you? A connoisseur, I see. The S9100, a fine choice. You can see this model skips ahead a few numbers, and let me tell you why. First, you’re talking a 12.1 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor, which is better for low light shooting. And if you thought the 7x zoom was roomy, go ahead and feel how luxurious the 18x zoom on this one is. 25-450mm equivalent, I tell you. You keep the real VR, but the touchscreen goes away. Instead, you get a 3″ high resolution display with 921,000 dots. You move up to 5 frames per second continuous shooting, and we’ll go ahead and throw in 1080 Full HD recording, too. Now, isn’t all that worth the lowly $40 upgrade price from the S6100? We agree. Now, if you’ll come this way, we can get that paperwork started…

There’re a bunch of pictures of all four models after the jump, if you need something to do with your time.
