So now that we have the new Nikon Coolpix P90 in stock, I have finally been able to play with the camera a bit. The screen on the back is very good. The articulated screen is a big improvement. It really allows you to get in tight and get the shot you want. And when I say get in tight, this Nikon Coolpix Camera gets it done. Don’t let the big 24x zoom fool you. It’s got one heck of a macro too. Here is what it can do:
Don’t be overly critical; it was handheld. Not bad at all, I think.
The other cool thing that jumped out at me was the movie mode. The P90 has a few options. One is Time-lapse mode from 30s all the way to 60 min. You can also record sepia or black and white mode. With the size of SD memory cards today, you can record a LOT of digital video.
Big zoom, big screen, great macro. What more do you need in a compact bridge camera?
