Buy Something Cool, Get Something Useful

Christmas shopping is down to the final week, and I just remembered that we have a special coming to a close at the end of this month. No no, this is good, listen:

You buy one of a selection of Kata’s DR-465 Rucksack (available in several colors, including the one pictured here)

We’ll include this free Manfrotto monopod (yup, Manfrotto, maker of fine camera tripods).

There you go. I just made everything easy. Buy the bag for yourself, give the monopod to someone you love (if that happens to also be yourself, don’t worry, we won’t tell.) Is the monopod as good as a Trekpod? Well, not entirely, but heck, it’s free, and free is the best price.

First Shipping Cut-Off Marks Beginning of the End

For those of you out there celebrating the Christmas holiday, today marks the last day we can guarantee an order placed on our website for ground shipping (in most states, IN, IL, OH, and KY have until next Monday for ground shipping) will arrive in time for the Christmas holiday. So, order up those Nikon lenses for that D300, find a Sony Cybershot camera for Auntie Bessie, or maybe get a nice, water-proof Panasonic camcorder for grandpa, who always manages to drop his in the lake while getting video of “that big one that keeps getting away.” Whatever your intents, today’s the day to get it ordered ground.

Of course, we’ll be happy to send things 2 day and overnight for all you hardcore slackers out there.

Beachtek XLR solution

So you’ve got that killer new Sony HD camcorder, but you really want to add that awesome new XLR jacked shotgun mic from Sony for an upcoming project.  Problem is, that little camera only has a miniphone plug for microphones.  Beachtek has a solution for under $200!  It’s called the DXA-2s dual XLR microphone adapter.  And it’s easy to use!  Plug and play!

DXA2s

You no longer have to sacrifice audio on a compact high definition camcorder.  There are two XLR microphone inputs so you can level the audio between to seperate mics.  You could run a wireless and a shotgun at once and equalize the levels anyway you want.

Screw this little box into the bottom of your camcorder and away you go!  Big audio in a small package!
