Sony and Canon both have portable, easy to use DVD burners for creating home movies with ease. People who do not want to mess with a computer need a way to make movies. The easiest by far is the new Sony VRD-MC5 Multi-Function DVD recorder.
Just connect to your camcorder, VCR or DVR for recording video DVDs playable in standard DVD players. Built-in slots accept the five most common memory cards for recording digital pictures to DVD as a slideshow or for photo storage. And for the ultimate in clarity and photo-realistic imagery, record high definition AVCHD video from HDD or Memory Stick and SD memory cards to DVD, playable in Blu-ray players.
Transfer high definition video in native 1080i resolution from AVCHD camcorders to DVD recorded in H.264 format. This allows up to 95 minutes of HD video to be recorded on a DVD playable on most Blu-ray Disc players.
Record all the video from a HDD/MemoryStick Handycam camcorder, just selected scenes, or only video recorded since the last DVD burn — all at up to 6X speed (60 minutes of video in about 10 minutes). Will “span” multiple DVDs as necessary.
